SEAPORT-e MAC - Functional Area 18 : SOW Paragraph 3.18
Training Support

GPA has been very active in supporting the MK 57 NSSMS program training.

We are involved in all aspects of NSSMS training from the legacy equipment at CSCS Detachment Dam Neck, VA to scheduling and conducting initial ship crew training for major upgrades to the system.

We have provided MK 57 Mod 4-9 training to CVN 68, CVN 69, CVN 76, and LHD 7 crews.

We are involved in the oversight of the development of a Visual Interactive Simulation Training Application (VISTA ™ ) computer based training program for the operation and maintenance training of the Mod 4-9, Mod 10-11, and Mod 12-13 programs. The VISTA™ program will be used in a new advanced electronic classroom environment.

GPA Team member, Santa Barbara Applied Research, Inc. (SBAR) is also involved in the scheduling and training of new Navy instructors at CSCS Detachment Dam Neck, VA on new system upgrades. GPA also performs warfighter training on site (NAS/MCAS/shipboard) in the storage, breakout, buildup, transport, loading, aircraft weapons system checkout and trouble shooting, and down load of conventional aviation ordnance. Training includes the utilization of test equipment and specialized handling equipment for all tactical aircraft and helicopters in the Navy Marine Corps inventory.
